Up until last year I never wore sunscreen. I used to cringe at the thought of putting sunscreen on my face because American sunscreens are never created with black and brown people in mind. Western (American) sunscreen is heavy and greasy and it leaves a white cast on your skin. Who wants to walk around looking like a ghost? However, at the start of 2017 I came across eastern (Asian) sunscreens and I will never turn back. I have always had a problem with uneven skin tone and hyper-pigmentation, and I would have never thought that sunscreen would help fix these issues. Sunscreen not only protects you from skin cancer, it slows down the process of aging, and it helps to keep your skin clear and even. Since I started wearing sunscreen I have noticed a drastic improvement in my skin. I encourage everyone to wear sunscreen EVERY DAY, even when it is cloudy and raining outside. If you are trying to get rid of dark spots, but you are not wearing sunscreen, then you will see very little to no improvement in your skin. I like to wear Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence because it is very light with a gel consistency. This sunscreen does not leave a white cast and it melts into your skin. Sunscreen should always be the last step in your skincare routine. I have also tried sunscreen from MISSHA. Everyone should wear sunscreen, even if you do not have problematic skin.
